Caring Bridge
It is the mission of CaringBridge to build bridges of care and communication providing love and support on a health journey. The founder, Sona Mehring, had the idea for CaringBridge 25 years ago when she needed to share news about a good friend’s premature baby. Instead of making dozens of emotional and time-consuming phone calls, she created a website, and CaringBridge was born. They are a nonprofit staffed by people dedicated to making each health journey easier.
CaringBridge is a free online tool for sharing health updates. It is an easy and ad-free way to communicate health news to family and friends—all in one place. Serving as a family caregiver, whether during a health crisis or chronic illness, is a noble, honorable and magnificent act of love. But caregiving can also be relentless, isolating and sometimes scary to have so much responsibility.
While most seniors face major adjustments when transitioning to an elder-care community, Jewish seniors face additional challenges. Not only do they lose their homes, and many of their friends, but they also lose ties to their cultural heritage. This is where the Jewish Pavilion, a 501c3 non-profit, steps in. The Pavilion serves as a resource that provides room visits, festive holiday celebrations, and more to 450 Jewish residents in fifty facilities for seniors. The Jewish Pavilion promotes inclusion, and thousands of seniors of all faiths are welcomed into our programs. www.JewishPavilion.org
The Orlando Senior Help Desk (407-678-9363) helps thousands of callers navigate their way through the daunting senior maze, alleviating caregiver stress while giving advice on all types of elder issues. www.OrlandoSeniorHelpDesk.org
